About the artist (Google Bill Wiman Paintings): Bill Wiman was an American artist born in Roscoe, Texas in 1940. He studied at East Texas State University where he received his BS, and at the University of Florida where he received his MFA. He has been included in over ninety exhibitions in the United States, including twenty-two one-person exhibitions in nine states. His work is represented in seventeen public collections in six states, including the Butler Institute of American Art, the San Antonio Museum of Art, the McNay Art Institute, and the Oklahoma Art Center. His work has been reviewed in Art News, Arts Magazine, and Art Forum. He was profiled in the book 50 Texas Artists, A Critical Selection of Painters and Sculptors. Wiman is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Art at The University of Texas at Austin, and recipient of a Ford Foundation Grant. Bill Wiman received the first Teaching Excellence Award in the Department of Art and Art History and the Eyes of Texas Excellence in Teaching Award. He is an elected member of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers at The University of Texas. Wiman’s work is currently represented by the Davis Gallery in Austin. His media is primarily oil on canvas, and it is through this media that the life-sized, and sometimes larger than life, photo-realistic paintings were created. His works have been exhibited throughout the United States but most extensively in the South and Southwest at the Fort Worth Art Center, the Owens Art Center in Dallas, the Art Museum of South Texas in Corpus Christi, the San Antonio Museum of Art, the Jacksonville Art Museum in Florida. Wiman is also represented in the permanent collections of the Butler Institute of American Art, the Oklahoma Art Center, the San Antonio Museum of Art, the AT&T Corporation, and the Museum of Arts and Sciences. Wiman's photo-realism technique allows the illusion of a full-scale color photograph due to the meticulous application of paint, the lighting in the painting, and the detail. ** will consider trades, trade for, high-quality, unique, one-of-a-kind, fine, art, paintings, antiques, vintage, custom, guitars, Alembic, bass guitars, Alembic bass guitar, Fender, Gibson, G&L, Rickenbacker, Gretsch, Martin, Collings, rare, vintage, custom shop, stratocaster, telecaster, original artwork, classic, motorcycle, harley, triumph, chopper, birthday gift, holiday gifts
