These pads were a labor of love. Mother became incontinent after a stroke. And I did not want to put her in diapers. She would most often sit bare bottom on these pads. That's why they were made with a very soft microfleece top. Microfleece itself does not absorb water, so it stays dry to the touch. Water drains right through. These pads are made like a pillow case. Inside the case is an insert made of a double layer of 11.5 oz micro-terry cloth. (11.5 oz /sq yard) Micro-terry is supposed to absorb 7.5 times it's weight in water. So theoretically, the insert could hold 2.8 quarts of water. But we never tried. The last underside layer is waterproof layer to keep water from draining through. These were all professionally sewed by lady with professional sewing machines, including a surger. The surger makes an interwoven series of cris-cross stitches all along the edges of the material to keep material from fraying. I made the insert removable to make everything easy to dry. I am only asking $10 each for these. I am pretty sure I have more money than that in just the materials. I hope that these can help you out. If you see this ad then I still have some pads left.
