He was born on June 2, 1949. From an early age he was encouraged to practice his art and he would eventually go on study outside from his town. In 1970's Volodya went to Yerevan and began interacting with artists such as Suren Safaryan, Hovhannes Zardaryan, Ghukas Chubaryan, etc. First, Volodya Avanesyan studied at Terlemezyan Fine Art College in Yerevan, then he continued his education at Yerevan Fine Arts Institute, faculty of Art Education. After his studying Volodya lives and develops his work in Sisian town, Syunik Region of Armenia. He has worked as a painter-designer in different plants of Sisian Region and meantime has taught at different schools of the same region. In early of 1990's Volodya Avanesyan has taught art and paintings at Sisian Humanitarian College. In the interim, from 1994 to 1996 he went to Artsakh and worked at Artsakh State University. During of his artistic life he has played on musical instruments and has been a fun of particularly Armenian National String Instrument such as Tar. He also plays guitar and piano. Volodya could join National Music into Armenian colored paintings in his art works. Volodya Avanesyan is best known for his realistic urban landscapes, national fruits and flowers. He is a man of exceptional charm, an excellent modest and decent painter, and high-class master of his art. All his life he has presented in art creating new paintings, and his colorful paintings depict the beauty of his beloved homeland.
