BASED ON THE CARFAX REPORT, THE CAR REACHED 200,000 MILES, THEN DROPPED BACK DOWN TO 135,000 MILES. THIS IS NOT THAT UNCOMMON ON OLDER HIGH MILEAGE CARS. PROBABLY THE SAME REASON THEY BOUGHT A USED GUAGE CLUSTER INSTEAD OF A NEW ONE. HOWEVER, AS I JUST ACQUIRED THE CAR, THE ABOVE IS ONLY AN ASSUMPTION BASED ON RELATIVELY COMMON OCCURENCES. I PUT DOWN 220,000 MILES BASED ON CALCULATING THE 200,000 MILES IT HAD IN 2022. ADDED A GUESS OF ANOTHER 20,000 FOR ANOTHER YEAR OF DRIVING BEFORE THE NEXT MILEAGE REPORTED WAS AT 135,000 MILES THIS YEAR IN 2023. THE ODOMETER CURRENTLY READS 138,088. On to the good stuff about this offering. Honda Pilot EX-L, which was the highest trim offered by Honda. Three row leather seating for up 7 people. For a 16 year old vehicle with over 200,000 miles, this thing is very clean. No apparent excess wear throughout the interior. Exterior, the body is mostly straight. No big dents, just a few typical door dings hear and there. Paint is 17 years old, but not in bad shape. There are few scratches / chips here and there, but no major ones that stand out like a sore thumb, as you can see in the photos. Rear bumper cover has some peeling. Most cars offered under $5,000 need significant repairs, have major damage from accidents, or are worn out and look used up. This car however is quite clean and looks like a typical car with nothing that stands out that would be considered out of the ordinary for a car of this age and mileage. As also shown on the Carfax report, this vehicle was EXTENSIVELY maintained throughout its lifetime. As such, despite the high mileage, it appears that it was extremely well taken care of, both physically and mechanically. While the mileage is relatively high, it is a "Honda", which is known for being among the most reliable vehicles ever built. Only two minor repairs are known to be needed. Trash bag is covering the right rear window because the power window regulator is broken and the window will not roll up. Can find these for around $50. The left outside mirror has duct tape on it from the prior owner, thus is assumed to be broken. Likely can find a mirror on E-bay or parts forums for under $100. Other than that, this thing has been serviced religiously with constant oil changes and other maintenance completed throughout every year of its life. So rare for a 3-Row SUV that's this clean to come available for under $5,000. Looks like a great daily driver or people mover with rare seating for 7 in this class of vehicles. For someone seeking cheap transportation, not sure you'll find a better offering at this price point, let alone a high demand SUV that is fully loaded on options as the highest trim level offered by Honda.
