Mother and Daughter Geese Pair

High-producing mother goose laid 51 delicious huge eggs last spring and summer She should start laying eggs again within the next few weeks She is about 3 years old. I was told she was half Pilgrim when we purchased her at 1-year of age. The daughter goose had a pure Pilgrim father at our ranch and the above goose was her mother. The mother goose was allowed to hatch and raise the last one of her eggs this past summer. Mother and daughter are tightly bonded, so I don't want to separate them. $200 total for the pair. I am selling the mother because she has just started getting into nest selection squabbles this year with a duck that does not want to give up her nest. If you have chickens that have elevated nests, you probably would have that problem since geese only nest on the ground. These geese have not been around chickens, so introduce them with a barrier like chicken wire until they learn about each other. Normally these 2 geese are very good with our ducks and even protect the ducks like their own family. Unless you want goslings, you do not need a gander. These are very healthy geese! We are TVMDL Certified for ducks and geese. As primary food these geese have had Purina Flock Raiser, Purina duck feed with oyster shell crumbles or Purina layer feed that is shared with our ducks. These geese free range all day and like dandelions, many grasses including Bermuda grass, most leafy vegetables. Watermelon and thawed peas make great snacks for training. We have planted many greens for the ducks and geese to forage from such as 6 types clover, collards, mustard greens, turnip tops, oats, rye, peas, and much more. Geese like to eat many types of weeds and can protect ducks and maybe other poultry from small predators such as feral cats, once they adopt your flocks. Make two 2x2ft or larger size ground-based nests 8" full of pine shavings in a rain-covered and predator-protected space, and these geese should be happy and work well for you. Geese are occasionally loud, so understand this issue if you decide to purchase them.
