Antique Ninghsia 5’ x 8’ 100% Wool on Cotton Foundation Carpet, West C

This is a rare antique Ninghsia 100% wool carpet on cotton foundation that was woven in West China at least 120 years ago. The nature of the weave determines the age as an earlier Ninghsia as it shows a difference in terms of knot density. The beautiful design features a beige field with a central floral medallion supported by butterflies and hooked vine spandrels within a blue flowering vine border enclosed by a blue surround.
